But do travelling and cannabis go hand in hand? When it comes to pre-trip planning, we know there’s one question in every Aurora client’s mind: Is it legal to travel with my medical cannabis?

The answer? Yes! As long as you have the correct documents with you, it is perfectly legal to travel anywhere in Canada with your medical cannabis. That’s why our containers are designed with an airtight seal: to make transporting your medication as hassle-free as possible.

We know travelling can often be a chaotic and stressful experience – you shouldn’t have to worry about transporting your medication on top of that. That’s why we’ve decided to provide you with a little peace of mind. Below are five things you should remember before you get out and enjoy what Canada has to offer.

• Keep your medicine in its original packaging.
• Always pack your medicine in your carry-on baggage, or in an easily accessible place.
• Have all your registration documents with you, including the receipt of your latest purchase.

• Never pack, or possess, more than your 30-day limit.
• If you’re flying, arrive at the airport early to give the staff time to check all your documents.

Insider Tip: For those wanting a little extra certainty, one of our senior employees at our Cremona facility recommends keeping your documents in the same container as your medication. An easy way to do this is to vacuum seal the container with the documents or put them in a Ziploc bag (if neither of these work for you, try cellophane.)

Remember you can’t smoke or vape on a plane so we recommend taking your medicine before arriving at the airport.
